Our management team comprises a group of highly qualified and experienced investment professionals and entrepreneurs.

Gavin Nicholas

Gavin has over 25 years of international experience in the areas of private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance.

He began his career at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in 1990 where he worked for seven years both in South Africa and New York. After spending a further 7 years in London as a partner at Invex Capital, a mid-market private equity firm, Gavin migrated to Australia in 2007, where he established Peppermint Capital, which continues the private equity focus of capital creation through partnering with businesses and engineering optimal exit strategies to maximise shareholders’ gains.

Gavin is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor and Post Graduate Degree in Commerce.

John Groppoli

John is an experienced professional who has been involved in a number of private equity transactions over the past 25 years.  Prior to becoming involved in corporate life in 2004, John was a partner of the national law firm Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright) where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, franchising (and related wholesale and retail distribution networks) and corporate governance.

He currently serves on the boards of a number of private and public companies, including Automotive Holdings Group (with a market capitalisation exceeding $1.2 billion), Stealth Global Industries Ltd, Milner’s Brand Marketing (a national distributor of international homewares) and Aviva Mann Optical Group (optical products and accessories).

John is a qualified lawyer with an LLB, BJuris, FAICD.

Huey Liew

Huey Liew is a Chartered Professional Engineer, with more than 20 years experience in various capacities, including project management, business process improvement, business development, and marketing.

As a certified Google Partner, Huey is proficient in web strategies such as search engine optimisation, adwords and social media, and has an innovative ability to capitalise on unique online marketing opportunities for businesses.

Huey graduated from Monash University in Mechanical Engineering and studied Applied Finance and Investment at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
